Clean Water for a Family
Clean water is an absolutely freeing commodity to those living in poverty. Not only is the risk of waterborne diseases minimized and health therefore greatly increased, but clean water also gives freedom to women and children that previously had to laborious collect, use and consume dirty water. Access to clean drinking water empowers whole communities, and as the local residences become healthier there is more opportunity for education, a brighter future, and living life to its fullness.
Making clean water closer in proximity to the villages enables children to spend less time fetching water, resulting in more time for family and school.
Our clean water campaign goes beyond drilling water wells and providing water filtration systems. Global Children’s Fund believes in the following three key approaches to a sustainable solution for addressing the current global water and sanitation crisis:
- Establish and train a local, long-term sanitation committee, to regularly present workshops and seminars designed to provide up to date information and strategies for maintaining healthy living, working, and learning environments.
- Partner with and advocate for communities through our strong ties with policymakers, local Rotarians, community leaders, local businesses and innovators, to help promote sanitation initiatives and further growth.
Provide sanitation supplies such as trash receptacles, hand washing stations, water filters, build and repair water wells, and more.
